Saint-Charles-Borromée is a Canadian city, located in Quebec in the MRC of Joliette in Lanaudière. It is named after the parish of Saint-Charles-Borromée, which is named in honor of the Italian bishop Charles Borromeo.

The choice of the name comes from Barthélemy Joliette whose wife, Marie-Charlotte Tarieu Taillant de Lanaudiere, was very involved in the construction of the local church. The city was to be named in his name but since there was no Sainte-Charlotte, it was decided to masculinize the name which became that of Saint-Charles-Borromée. Charles Borromeo (1538-1584) was the archbishop of Milan and the founder of the Oblates.
