Nominingue which means (red earth) and also (the country where one returns) in Algonquin is a Canadian municipality in Quebec located in the MRC Antoine-Labelle and the administrative region of the Laurentides. Its inhabitants are Nomininguois.

The village had its printing works and its newspaper (L'Ami du Colon) which became Le Pionnier. A young 19-year-old typographer, Adolphe Ardouin, works there.

A first Caisse populaire was created in 1908; it is the eighth founded by Alphonse Desjardins himself; it will not be able to continue but will return in 1939. Nominingue is the place of residence of many doctors, lawyers, judges and other professionals. Eugène Patenaude has his private railway, the Trans Nominingue Railway.

Nominingue then includes three municipalities: the Village, the Canton Loranger and Bellerive-sur-le-Lac. On November 3, 1971, the 3 municipalities merged, then it became the municipality of Lac-Nominingue.
